While working as a photographer for the university of Texas UTMB (1974?) I had the opportunity to film a stargazer as it gobbled up a minnow. They hide in the sand and attack from below. The film proved that they don't use the ability to shock a fish in the normal course of feeding. FWIW, We used 100 feet of film every 2 seconds to catch this. It was quite a challenge since we had to use very bright lights and that really affected both the gazer and the minnows behavior. Thanks for posting up the pic, brought back some cool memories from long ago.

Good dumb fun if you can get into them. Buddy and I caught quite a few at Pelican one day. You get about 4-5 jolts before he runs out
